SECOBRA Research develops breeding programs for winter and spring barley, winter wheat and triticale.
Wheat
A cereal widely grown around the world for its seed. There are many varieties, each adapted to specific climatic and geographical conditions. We develop several breeding programs for various uses including human consumption, animal feed and industrial use.
Winter Barley
Winter barley is widely grown in Europe. It is an important source of food for farm animals and can also be used to produce malt for the manufacture of beer. SECOBRA Research have been involved in the malt and beer sector since 1902.
Spring Barley
Spring barley, grown all over the world, offers a fairly short growtht cycle. Used for the production of malt for the manufacture of beer and whisky, we are present in all the world’s production areas to provide agronomic and technological solutions to our industrial malting partners.
Triticale
A hybrid cereal resulting from a cross between wheat and rye, it combines the advantages of both species, offering resistance to disease and tolerance of difficult climatic conditions. Triticale is mainly used for animal feed.
